The gripping thriller, Dhurandhar 2, has captivated audiences with its intense narrative and a pivotal scene that has sparked intense discussions. Actor Danish Pandor, who portrays the menacing Uzair Baloch, opens up about the harrowing experience of filming the brutal killing of gangster Arshad Pappu. This scene, inspired by a real-life incident, pushed Pandor to his limits, both physically and emotionally.
In an exclusive interview, Pandor revealed the psychological toll of embodying such a dark character. He shared, "When I first read about it, I was terrified... even reading about it made me wonder how someone could do something like that." This raw honesty showcases the depth of his commitment to the role, as he delved into the psyche of a violent criminal. Despite the initial shock, Pandor's dedication to the craft was evident, as he stated, "But as an actor, when you work on a character, you give yourself fully to it."
Pandor's approach to the scene was methodical and instinct-driven. He explained, "I did that scene by staying in the moment and in the situation. After every take, I would look towards [director] Aditya Dhar, and if he gave a thumbs up, I wouldn't even go to the monitor because I wanted my director to be extremely happy."
The actor's dedication came at a cost, however. During the filming, Pandor suffered a serious thumb injury, requiring a lengthy recovery. He admitted, "I hurt my thumb during the flow of the scene and was immediately rushed to the hospital. It took around two to two-and-a-half months to heal... it got a bit serious."
Despite the challenges, Dhurandhar 2 has achieved remarkable success at the box office. Directed by the acclaimed Aditya Dhar, the film stars a stellar cast, including Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and R Madhavan. Since its release on March 19, the movie has crossed the impressive milestone of Rs 500 crore net in India and is approaching the Rs 830 crore mark worldwide, solidifying its status as a blockbuster hit.
